A Night of a Thousand Wines - the Mississauga Symphony's 11th annual wine tasting and fine wine auction, on April 1, 2004 at Mississauga's Living Arts Centre.

Swirl; smell; taste; bid to your heart's content during a night of a thousand wines.

Wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts will experience an evening when wine and music merge. This year's event is a great opportunity for avid wine collectors to acquire new treasures or for those wishing to learn more about wine. The tantalizing tour, featuring wines from various wine regions and vintages, will commence with a viewing at 6 p.m., followed by a live fine wine auction at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each or a reserved sponsor table of eight, with signage, can be purchased for $250.

This annual wine tasting and fine wine auction is one of the Mississauga Symphony's signature events. The evening will feature a silent and fine wine auction, wine tasting from Niagara region and surrounding area wineries, a rare wine tasting table, hosted by Vintages Mississauga's John Tait, and reception with musical entertainment featuring Mississauga Symphony orchestra members.

A Night of a Thousand Wines is proud to feature the wines of Niagara and area wineries. As the evening's wine tasting hosts, individuals can acquaint themselves with offerings from Angels Gate Winery, Colio Estate Wines, Ferndale Vineyards Inc., Frogpond Farms, Grape Tree Estates Wines, Joseph's Estate Wines, Mountain Road Wine Company, Peller Estates Winery, Royal DeMaria, Scotch Block Winery, Stone Church Vineyards and 13th Street Wine Company.

The live auction will be hosted by auctioneer Heather Pigat of Ritchie's Auctioneers. A complete catalogue of featured wines is available online at www.mississaugasymphony.com. A silent auction, featuring several wine and non-wine related items generously supplied by donors and corporate partners, will proceed throughout the evening.

Last year, the Mississauga Symphony's annual wine tasting and fine wine auction raised $25,000. Events like A Night of a Thousand Wines assist the Mississauga Symphony, one of Canada's top community orchestras, continue to provide and promote high-calibre orchestral music. A portion of the night's proceeds will be contributed to the Mississauga Symphonic Association Endowment Fund. All contributions made to this fund are matched dollar-for-dollar by the Ontario Arts Council Endowment Fund.
