The OWS always chooses a different restaurant for each year's annual gourmet dinner
and this year is no exception. The featured restaurant for 2003 is the Bb33 Bistro and Brasserie
at the Delta Chelsea Inn in downtown Toronto.
Bb33 features contemporary Canadian cuisine with fresh seasonal ingredients from across Canada.
The Bistro showcases the Chef's talents in an intimate setting. The Chef de Cuisine is Margaret
MacKay who began her cooking career in Toronto a number of years ago at Madcaps on Queen St. West,
a restaurant owned by the "Blues Brothers", James Belushi and Dan Ackroyd. Since that time Margaret's
experience has been honed at home at many highly reputable restaurants such as Toronto's Le Papillon,
Winston's, Oro, Scaramouche and JK at the ROM. Her European experience includes the Hotel Sacher in Vienna,
Café Winkler in Salzburg and the Four Seasons Hotel in Zurich.
Creekside Estate Winery has matched the wines for the meal for us. Creekside Estate Winery
produces and markets a range of critically acclaimed premium table wines and Ice wines in Ontario
from their two vineyards in Jordan Station and St. David's. Recent international awards have been
given for their Vidal Ice wine (1999), Sauvignon Blanc (2000) and Laura's Blend (1999).
The Menu for the evening and Wine Tasting Notes, compliments of the Winemaker, Craig McDonald, are on the back on this sheet.
