Château des Charmes was founded in 1978 by Paul Michel Bosc, a fifth generation French winegrower who came to Canada in the 1960's. He was the first in Canada to plant a vineyard dedicated to vitis vinifera - the European grape species from which the world's finest wines are made. The vines that he planted included Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Riesling. The latter is used in the production of the Château's Icewine, a stunning dessert wine that has won numerous international awards and acclaim. Our tasting will feature 9 of the best from Chateau des Charmes PLUS a mystery wine from the OWS cellars (prizes for those who can guess what it is):

Pierre-Jean Bosc who represents the sixth generation of wine growing expertise will lead us through the tasting of their extraordinary wines. The Bosc family owns four vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula totaling 250 acres (100 hectares). These are the largest winery-owned vineyard holdings in the region.
The Tasting Rooms will be preparing a special selection of appetizers to compliment the wines. Free parking is available at First Canadian Place.
