Wine? ...Made of fruit? Did you know that the very definition of wine has nothing to do with grapes? It's simply a beverage made from fermented fruit juice. Did you know that Ontario has over 20 wineries either specializing or producing significant amounts of wine made from fruit other than grapes? Take the opportunity to try something different! Come and taste wines, including "Gold", "Best of" and "Silver" award winners from all over Ontario. We'll enjoy another alfresco tasting on the verandah of Featherstone Winery (weather-permitting) as we taste wines made of everything from gooseberries, to cranberries, to apricots. And not all sweet! We'll have everything from dry table wines, to dessert wines; and from light & crisp, to full-bodied & rich. You'll be amazed at the versatility of fruit wines. This time, we'll have a small panel of speakers, explaining aspects of fruit wine like "how to match them with food", to "how they are made", to the QC body that controls them. Fruit wine makers, including David Johnson and Andrzej Lipinski, will be on hand to answer all your questions. Afterwards, you're invited to stay for the selection of "nibblies" and the mingling hour. We hope to see you there! For information call the Niagara Wine Line at 905-685-7623.
