Niagara Chapter's July Tasting: Matching Wine and Barbeque Tasting At Creekside Estate Winery, 2170 Fourth Avenue, Jordan Station

Summer is a perfect time for barbeque and a great time to find the perfect wines to match your favourite foods off the grill. Creekside Estate is a winery that specializes in BBQ during the summer months, with in-house chef David Paquet grilling up masterpieces on the covered patio every weekend! David will be there to explain his food (and perhaps we can coax him to give a secret or two away)! Here's just a sample of what we'll be tasting:
- Sauvignon Blanc: Brazilian Grilled Shrimp Skewer with Lime & Cilantro Marinade
- Pinot Gris: Asian Grilled Chicken Sates with Chile & Black Bean
- Signature Merlot: Grilled Duck with Red Current Glaze on Sweet Potato Scone
- Signature Shiraz: Seared Venison Tenderloin Carpaccio with Truffle Oil
Our guest speaker, Barbara Leslie is a past publisher of Winetidings Magazine, co-author of Canadian Wine for Dummies (with Tony Aspler), and most recently, has been teaching courses in wine tasting at Niagara College in the Winery and Viticulture Technicians Program. Barbara will guide us through a short refresher on matching wine and food, and then walk us through the BBQ and wine pairings; including a number of Creekside's Signature Series wines!
