The "noble" Cabernet Sauvignon grape is the king of kings. You'd be hard pressed to find many wineries that don't grow it, and even harder pressed to find a wine lover who doesn't like drinking it. But when you're out looking to buy a bottle, have you ever wondered how much of a difference the price makes? Even further, the Niagara Region is said to have a glass ceiling on the prices of its wines. Because it's such a young industry, it is said that the market can not yet bare higher prices. So does this mean we get great value wines at a fraction of the price?
Established in 1991, Lakeview Cellars was one of the Niagara Region's first small craft wineries. It soon became known for its award winning wines. Join us as Lakeview Cellars' winemaker, Tom Green, guides us through this horizontal tasting of the region's Cabernet Sauvignons. We'll have a blind tasting that will include Cabernet Sauvignons from the full range of Niagara's prices. Assess for yourself how big a factor price plays when you're searching to buy a bottle of this prestigious variety. Included in this tasting will be Lakeview Cellars' award winning Cabernet Sauvignon.

Follow Victoria St (or Regional Road 24) south (towards the escarpment) until you get to the lights at King Street (Regional Road 81). Turn right and proceed west for approximately 2 kilometers.
