A special tasting of sparkling and fruit wines plus a port.
The Ontario Wine Society presents a special tasting of unique wines which can be used before, during and after a dinner.
Most people think of fruit wines as sweet desert wines or wines made with apples. While that statement is partially true, come to this event and see and taste "other than apple" fruit wines that are available and are winning awards.
Once you have tasted the wines at this event you will be surprised to learn how dry some of these fruit wines are and how well they match with food. The Tasting Rooms Restaurant will be serving a special selection of appetizers to compliment the wines - see the menu sampler on the back of this flyer and the wines that we think will compliment the appetizers.
Bill Redelmeier of Southbrook Winery will be our guest speaker and lead us through this special tasting event. He will talk about the fruit wine industry and where it is going in Ontario. Currently there are 21 fruit wineries in Canada, with 16 of them in Ontario.
Just as VQA grape wines are winning awards, so are the fruit wines we are going taste, with several of these wines winning gold, silver and bronze.
