A Vertical Tasting of Southbrook Chardonnay At The Tasting Rooms at First Canadian Place, 100 King Street West Mezzanine Level

Bill Redelmeier has currently released the last of Southbrook Winery's older Chardonnays. What is left in the market is selling at huge prices in select restaurants. The Triomphe and Triomphus are their premium labels. We will have the Triomphe from 2002, '01, '00 and '99. Then to compare, the Lailey Vineyard 2000 and the Triomphus 2002, '00 and '98, the latter two in magnums. Bill will give us the background on the vintages, vineyard selection and winemaking styles leading us through an exceptional tasting of outstanding wines.
Chris Boland at the Tasting Rooms has come up with a tasting plate that will challenge your taste buds, as an accompaniment to the wines. It is:
- Tempura Shrimp with Smoked Tomato Sauce
- Escargots with Pesto Fondue
- Grilled Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus
- Canadian Cheddar, Smoked Ham and Apple Puff Pastry
- Fresh Spinach and Feta Cheese with Lemon, Baked in Phyllo
- Roasted Pulled Duck Spring Roll with Ginger Preserve
- French Brie
Parking at First Canadian Place is off Adelaide or York Streets - bring your stub for validation for free parking but public transportation is strongly advised. Please remind your guests that scented after shave or perfume is discouraged.
